A Few Sentences at a Time

Does this work? Ah ha! I have figured out that I can do word to text from my phone on here. this may actually save me some time. I'm going to do a few sentences at a time throughout the day and hopefully we'll be posting this tonight.

My medical update: So I went in for that HIDA Scan... the most boring 90 minutes of my life... and everything came back clear. Yay, it's no my gallbladder! However, that means that it is something else. I have an appointment on the 3rd and we shall see where he wants to go from there. It was frustrating because I had to pump and dump for 24 hours. What a waste of milk! But Mike and Megan reminded me that it is better than the 48 hours that they originally told me. That is true.

There have been family visits the last couple of weeks, as well as Olivia hitting some milestones! the weekend of the 16th Mike, Olivia, and I went over to Grandma and Grandpa Atwater's house. Great grandma Atwater came up to Washington for her 80th birthday. We were not going to make it over for the family dinner party so we went over the weekend before so that we could celebrate with her. Also, Olivia had not been over to Grandma and Grandpa Atwater's house yet so we wanted to make sure that we got her there. Olivia got to meet aunt Karmen (Marietta's daughter), uncle Craig, and cousin Sydney for the first time!

Our gift to great grandma Atwater was to take the family to get family pictures! Grandma Sheila and Grandpa Randy came along as well. I was just told that the pictures are in the mail so I will be getting them as soon as I can.

(These posts may end up being very long!) Olivia had her 4 month checkup. The doctor said that she is looking great and healthy. She weighs just over 15 pounds, is just over 25 inches long, and her head circumference, I believe, is just over 16 inches. We cannot believe how fast she is growing! I was talking to the doctor about solid foods and told her that when I'm eating Olivia stretches out her hands to me like she wants some. The doctor said that she doesn't normally suggest introducing solid foods before 5 months but doesn't think Olivia will let us wait that long. So we got permission to introduce rice cereal! Not that we need permission, but it is always good to check with the doctor.

She also suggested that we get the Flu shot as the peak of flu season is the beginning of February and it is bad this year in Spokane. We thought about it... I do not like needles but have learned to deal with them. I have never had a flu shot and Mike has not had one for as long as I have known him. Every year I hear stories of people getting really sick from the shot and seeing as how she has not been sick yet (knock on wood), I think that I will skip it. I am pretty sure that if I got the shot, I would get sick and then probably pass it on to Olivia.

In the photos above, she is working on sitting up and was starring at herself. In these two... she is eating from a spoon for the first time! YUMMY! I finally get to use the bibs that everyone made at our baby shower!

Such a stinkin cutie! Towards the end of last week my mom came over to Spokane to watch Olivia for us for three days while I had a big event and Mile worked. To keep the story short, let's just say that I love my parents and the things they are willing to do for me! Thank you both! ♡♡

Olivia hates uncle Ben's beard so much that she tried to rip it out! And I'm not kidding when I tell you that she has a death grip. It's crazy!

The other day, I decided to dress her up and do a photo shoot. Here are some of the best! I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THESE PICTURES!! <3 <3 <3 <3
Especially the yellow dress. Well, the secret is that it is actually a 12 month shirt but I thought it was a dress at first so that is what it is for now :)

I do not even know what else to share! We will definitely have to keep an eye on her. There is so much :) I am teaching her to curl her tongue... it is really cute :) She has also been to the Child Watch at the YMCA twice now. I am not sure if I will be taking her back there though, the kids were pretty gross. They will give bottles if they are already made, DO NOT change diapers, and have a 10 minute crying limit before they come and get you to deal with your child... Yeah.

Okay, it is bed time but I did get quite a bit in here! And lots of photos if nothing else. I have some more videos also, I just don't want to have to wait for them to upload. Good night!

Planning to Catch Up

Megan suggested that I just post pictures and blog later :) So that is what is going to happen. The last week or so has been crazy! I'll try to get caught up as soon as I can but in the mean time, here are some pictures that don't have a story to tell:

Simple Toys = Saved Money

"Red solo cup! I fill you up!" yeah, not even with water for a long time for this little one :) She has found a new toy though. And it cost me nothing! It is amazing what babies (even adults) are entertained by.

I could not handle the crying and decided that I needed to get out of the house. So, Olivia and I delivered a Wendy's Frosty and french fries to dad just because we could and to bring him a sweet treat to make his night better. I was not ready to go home yet because Olivia actually fell asleep. I thought about driving to Idaho and back just to stay on the road. Then I remembered that the other day when I took Olivia to the mall to walk she stayed asleep the whole time. Well, I went to the mall but she was awake the whole time. I bought her a new toy because she seemed to like it but she ended up playing with my chap stick and headphones. I'll know for next time :)

I was also talking with my siblings about the red solo cup and that it does not take much to entertain a baby and that they should just buy her different size boxes for Christmas and just leave it at that. That way we can use our imagination to make a house, a fort, and a rocket ship! So excited :D

Here is my rant for the day:

I got the run around from Olivia's pediatrician and my doctor as neither of them had any advice for me on what to do about feeding Olivia after my HIDA Scan on Friday. So today I finally called the technician and he said that I should pump TWO DAYS WORTH of milk and then pump and dump for 48 HOURS!! UUGGHH. What a pain. Even more so because we will traveling this weekend. I should be okay to feed her half way through the day on Sunday. It is not easy to pump two days worth of milk. It is such a waste to throw away that much, especially thinking that some women have such a hard time producing milk at all. But I will not complain because making sure that Olivia get breast milk is important to me. I am just worried because I have a big three day event next week. My mom is coming over to watch Olivia for us but I just hope that I have enough milk saved up again by then. I will have to take the pump, bottles, and a cooler with me as I travel around the college. I just hope that I can find I place to pump (now that I think of it, I should probably make arrangements). I am also irritated that I had to wait for call backs from both doctors just to have them tell me to check with the technician. If anyone, I feel like a pediatrician should know what will affect a baby and how.

Rant over...

Out and About and a Selfie!

While Katie was watching Olivia today, baby girl decided to TAKE A SELFIE! Oh how I dislike that word... It is really ridiculous, but she is so cute! HAHAHA! Look at those lips XOXO

Megan asked me last night if I was going to blog and I plainly said no :D It had been a long day and I had just gotten home from a meeting. It was a good meeting for one of the teen programs that I help with. We met at Horizon Credit Union and they were given a financial workshop. They really need to teach this stuff in high school. FORGET CALCULUS! How many people actually use calculus in life? Now credit card knowledge, that is important.

Late night Skyping with family last night

I had a little extra time today so I went into Joanne Fabric to start looking for things for the Quiet Book. I cam across this BIG WHITE FLOWER and just had to try it! Yeah.... .no. Definitely not as good as the one from Halloween. So I put it back.

Olivia spent the morning with dad, then off to Katie's house, up to say "hi" to my mom's friend Dollie, over to Whitworth to sit with uncle Ryan (where she decided to just scream), and finally some mommy time and Skyping with auntie Megan and Grammy before heading off to bed.

 Goofball!

Accepting Beards

My brothers Ben and Ryan came over on Saturday to watch the Seahawks game on Saturday. They both have beards and we have learned that Olivia does not like beards... Here is some proof:

Poor Ryan, he just wants to spend time with his niece...
Well, Ryan spent the night last night and today we were able to work on her "issue" with beards. HAHA! We did make some progress.

Mike took advantage of me sleeping for a photo opportunity with baby girl

Our Seahawk princess!
Working on those leg muscles!
This morning after I fed Olivia and put her back down, I climbed into bed. Only moments later I heard one of our cats meowing and could not figure out where he was but it sounded like he was outside. I had Mike turn on the light and we went to look for him. Turns out he had locked himself in the filing cabinet! HAHA! I had left one of the drawers open because I was filing away papers the other day. It was a great way to start the day :)

Sleepy baby fell asleep on my lap like this. Nap #2

I just couldn't resist

Uncle Ryan is teaching her how to use a cell phone!

Nap #7? We were driving Ryan back to school
This evening, I was going through Olivia's clothes and taking out what she has already out grown. Crazy to think that I have to do that already. There were just a few newborn outfits, pants that are too short, and pj's that no longer fit. It was hard to box them up because some of them were so cute! I just need to remember that there will be many other cute and favorite outfits to come. We also have about 4 packages of newborn diapers that I need to find someone or an organization to donate to. Olivia may also be moving up to size 2 diapers soon :/ CRAZY!

I was nursing her and getting ready to put her to bed when I saw and eyelash or something on her eyeball. Ryan had mentioned earlier that she kept rubbing her eyes and I thought it was just because she was tired. Mike did some research and it said to flush her eye out. We tried that and it didn't go so well... so something else he read said to just let her eye flush it out. I guess we will try that and see what happens.

Now that baby girl is down, we are getting our schedule set for this week. Lots going on! Meetings with students, an evening training, a training, an OB appointment, a HIDA scan (I'm calling my doctor tomorrow to ask about it), paying bills, scheduling more appointments, and packing to head over to grandpa and grandma Atwater's house! But, it is a three day weekend coming up so it will be good. Busy week this week! We hope that you all have a wonderful week :)
