TGIF and an Ultrasound

We made it to Friday! I know that some of you are just as excited as I am.

This was the other night. Baby girl was frustrated and would not let me feed her so I heated up a bottle. I tried to feed her from the bottle and she was still unhappy. So what happened below is that after crying, I gave her her teether to see if it would distract her for a little bit. Then I decided to hold up the bottle to get her attention. She saw it through the teether, set it on her face and grab the bottle to start eating. She held it all by herself until she was done! I only left the teether long enough to take the picture :D

 She is really working on sitting up on her own. Not quite there but almost. Look at her grabbing for those toys! We have really enjoyed spending time with her on the floor lately with her toys.

Looking at her daddy

This is miss Olivia at 6:45am this morning. She and Mike came with me to my ultrasound appointment. I have to say, it was weird to go in for an ultrasound with out being pregnant. When I left, the technician said that my doctor would have the results within 24 hours. I missed a call from them this afternoon and when I called back, the guy who had called me had just left. I heard the gal reading through his notes and I am pretty sure that she mumbled that my blood work and the ultrasound were clean. But then she said that they want to schedule me for a HIDA Scan. I had to look up what it was (you can see the definition below). She said that it would take about an hour and a half. The appointment is next Friday. I will let you know how it goes. Olivia makes it all worth it though! 

A hepatobiliary (HIDA) scan is an imaging procedure used to diagnose problems in the liver, gallbladder and bile ducts.

In the HIDA scan, a radioactive chemical or tracer is injected into a vein in your arm.

The tracer is handled by the liver like bile. Bile is a fluid produced and excreted by your liver that helps your digestive system break down fats in the foods you eat. Bile is stored in your gallbladder and the gallbladder releases the bile when you eat a meal.

A special nuclear medicine scanner (gamma camera) tracks the flow of the tracer from your liver into your gallbladder and small intestine.

Hello, my name is Olivia Mae, I am 4 months old and I rule this house!

Four months. Where does the time go?! It is amazing how much she has grown in just the last month. She is rolling over in both directions, eating her toes, has found her vocal chords, and grabbing hair :) We are four months in and we still have not bought a package of diapers! We are so blessed to have wonderful family and friends who gave us diapers. Just the other day did I start to get into the diapers from the diaper cake that great-aunt Myrna (Marietta's twin) made us for the baby shower. Which was extremely cute by the way :)

After her monthly photo shoot and Skyping with grandma and grandpa Cole, she decided to scream and scream so I was playing with her and this was the result:

The statement that children don't need/want their moms until their moms are comfortable is so true! My day is pretty much over when I get home from work and she has my undivided attention until she goes to bed. Well, maybe it isn't that bad, that is probably exaggerated. But, she does get most of my attention.

This morning I finally went in to see a new primary care doctor because I had not seen one since high school. One of the big things I wanted to talk to him about was some abdominal pains that I have been having off and on since the week of Thanksgiving. He had a lot of blood drawn and scheduled an ultrasound for me on Friday morning -_- I told him I thought it may be related to the birth control implant. I have an appointment with my OB on the 15th so I will chat with her. He thinks it may be a gallbladder thing but wants to start with the ultrasound and cross things off the list until we figure it out. I'll let you know how it goes.

On Sunday, Olivia got to see her first REAL snow! I absolutely love it when it snows during the day. I did not get to put her in the snow but we took a walk to the store.

I am so glad that Mike bought me a 500 GB external hard drive for Christmas for all of my photos. My phone gets pretty clogged up.

Let me just start by saying that the above picture is B-E-A-U-TIFUL! $1.93? Yes please! I doubt it will last long so I will enjoy it while it is here. I hope that some of you have also had low gas prices :D

This is my first post of 2015. I have thought about posting the last two nights but have been too tired and there really has not been all that much to say. So instead of rambling about baby facts and nonsense that you probably do not care about, I decided to sleep instead :) Olivia and I have been over to uncle Jon and Ben's house the last two days. But not to see them... go figure. Yesterday we stopped by to pick up a gift and ended up spending time with Katie and today we went to see grandpa Cole, Lauren, Ryan, and Jesika. My dad drove Ryan and Jesika back to school and Lauren just came along for the ride. Even though it was just for a couple of hours, we loved seeing you both!

We have discovered that Olivia DOES NOT like beards. HAHAHA!!! Seeing as how my dad, Ben, and Ryan all have beards and she cries whenever they hold her. It really is rather cute though. She starts with the lip which is followed by tears a short time later.

Katie has a do named Mollie and Mollie LOVES to give Olivia kisses. She also seems to think that Olivia is strong enough to throw her toy for her to fetch. Olivia really loved the puppy. Someday she will have a dog but she is enough of a handful that I do not need a dog at the moment. However, I may have told Mike that when we buy a house that we can get a dog :/

Mollie would bring the toy over and bounce it on Olivia's bottom a few times before just setting it down on top of her hoping that she would pick it up. It was really cute.

While my dad was holding Olivia and she was crying, I put her binky in her mouth and tried to clip her binky clip (see in the pictures above) to her onsie. All of a sudden, she started WAILING! I took the binky and my dad pulled down the onsie and I had pinched her skin with the clip. OUCH! Poor baby girl :'( I felt so bad. But after a few kisses and I little snuggling, she was okay. She is as trooper! Especially seeing as how she was sitting at Katie's feet while she stood and Olivia decided to grab and yank on one of Katie's toes; as Katie was trying to figure out what was going on, Olivia face planted... There was no crying and no tears; just a small red spot right above her eye. 

The pictures below are of my trying to get Olivia to take a nap without her swaddle blanket. The other day it took me about an hour to get her to stop screaming so that I COULD swaddle her and I finally got her to fall asleep on the couch with me and she ACTUALLY SLEPT for 3 hours! WOOHOO! Sleeping with Mike on the couch does not work. He says that he feeds her, swaddles, puts her in the rocker, and as soon as he picks it up to swing her, she is OUT! It is different for everyone.

While Olivia napped today, I had to run over to my office and grab some papers and my breast pump that I left there yesterday. I decided to swing by Value Village to look for some clothes on my way home because it is time that I retire my maternity clothes :/  I knew that I would eventually start shopping at consignment shops and thrift stores for her clothes because... BABY CLOTHES ARE EXPENSIVE AND THEY DON"T EVEN WEAR THEM THAT LONG! Look at what I found for baby girl! A 12 month Adidas jacket! It is too big for her now but it was only $5! And there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. SWEET! Let the deal hunting begin :D

I feel like I have done a lot of "yelling" in this blog. Sorry! Well, by yelling I mean lots of bold  and CAPITALS. :D Lots of smiley faces and exclamation points. Maybe I am just excited. I am also feeling like blogging is a chore some times. That is just not right... It may be because I feel like there is nothing worth blogging about. It could also be because I think that I am finally getting hit with postpartum depression. Probably a little of both. Maybe I just need to get out and do more of the things that I say I am going to do, like the Quiet Book. Because the Seahawks do not play tomorrow, I will hopefully have time to pick patterns and look for coupons. I'll have to do it before we go back to Jon, Ben, and Katie's for GAME NIGHT! Game night is always awesome :)

The Last Post of 2014

What a year this has been. I went through a lot of the big moments of this year in my post about our anniversary back in October. We had a lot of first this year and LOTS of ups and downs. I am hoping an praying that 2015 is better than 2014; but I do not know if that is possible because we got the BEST. GIFT. EVER. Baby Olivia Mae. <3 <3

These first two photos are of Olivia completely worn out from going to work with me the past two days and not really napping. Today I had to hold her and finally was able to get her to fall asleep after wrapping her up and walking outside. The I held her for an hour and a half before she woke up.

We ended up having the neighbor's kids until 2am. They are easy kids and fell asleep pretty quickly, but we were tired. Their cell phone died at the hospital so the last couple of hours, I heard nothing from them at all. 

All that is left to say about the Quiet Book is that I am excited to do some research and to get things started when Mike gets paid :D

 The following few pictures were taken with my Galaxy Gear watch that Mike got me for Christmas. It does a pretty good job! They are photos from a friends house where we went for dinner.

A girl on the move! Every time I lay her on her back and turn away, she flips herself right over. There is nothing wrong with that except that she ends up spitting up a lot almost every time. Do not be surprised if I let you know soon and post a video of the beginnings of crawling. CRAZY! We love this little girl so much.

We Survived!

Nothing big, just Olivia coming with me to work the last two days. It would not have been that bad except that this whole not napping thing is really starting to get her. At one point, one of my co-workers had her at the back of the building while I was trying to get my meeting started at the front and with the door closed. I could hear her! Geez, this girl have some lungs. She is a trooper though. Both days we came home and snuggled afterwards.

Tomorrow we are going to take our time in the morning and then take our Subaru back to the shop. And I also found out that Thursday is a paid day off! I didn't even think about it until someone told me yesterday :) HAPPY NEW YEAR! WOOHOO!

I really could get her into modeling. I just don't know where to start!

I bet that you have noticed all of the beautiful blankets that Olivia lays on when she poses for pictures. Many of them are handmade by wonderful family and friends (thank you!). So the other day while we were out and about, I was having problems coming to terms with the fact that this is my first child, my daughter, and I have not made her anything myself. I did not want to make a blanket so I went on the hunt for idea. I came across patterns for a Quiet Book. We used to have some and so I have decided that I am going to make Miss Olivia Mae some Quiet Books :D If you do not know what I Quiet Book is, here are some pictures. They are made out of felt and a few other materials. I am currently in the process of picking what activities I want in it.
