Baby Problems

We have hit some new firsts! Although not all of them are glamorous. yesterday morning I woke up really sick. It looked like Olivia wasn't feeling her best but she definitely did not have the symptoms that I had. So I stayed home and we cuddled all day and did absolutely nothing except for Skyping her aunties is for 2 hours. It was the worst that I have felt in a couple of years. With Olivia rubbing her eyes and showing other signs of being tired and myself being worn out, I put her to bed at around 7:50 p.m. As I went to lay down around 8:30pm, Olivia woke up and had a really stuffy nose. Mike was sweet enough to stop at the store and picked us up some medicine. And oh boy was it a long night! Poor baby couldn't get comfortable.  She was up about every hour or so. At one point, we were all awake and Mike rolled her up to try and get her back to sleep but he took a detour and decided to make her laugh instead. It was so sweet to witness this moment that they had together.

Around 3am Mike moved to the couch to get some sleep. Olivia was awake for a little while and giving me tons of smiles :-) At some point the three of us ended up sleeping on the couch. I stayed home for the second day on a row and tried to recover. Poor baby girl, it is rough when you want to enjoy your binky but can't because you can't breathe through your nose.... baby problems.

Today she was definitely more needy. However, for being her first time sick, it hasn't been that bad. Mike did some research and found out that breast fed babies recover from being sick faster because they are getting their mother's antibodies.

This isn't the only first this week! Today whenever I left the room, even though Mike was right there, Olivia would cry. I would wally away saying, "ma ma ma ma". And guess what!?! She started saying ma ms!! It was the sweetest thing <3 I know she was in tears, had snot bubbling out of her nose, and had no idea what she was saying but whenever she said it I would come running back into the room. Even though she is probably too young to start associating it, I'm going to stay trying.

We gave her some watermelon today. I'm not sure that she liked it. Haha! But she does like green beans and peas!

Baby girl is sounds asleep and now that Mike is home, we are off to sleep as much as we can :-)
