However, on the way over, I was reminded why I would prefer to NOT live on that side of the state... or near any large city for that matter. Olivia had done pretty well on the ride over. When we hit I-5, it was stop and go traffic. Then STOPPED traffic. There was no exit for three miles and she started screaming her head off. It was really hard to listen to and my students tried everything that they could to try and calm her down. It felt like a couple of hours even though I am sure that it was only about 30 minutes. I thought about just pulling off on the side of the freeway but then she would have screamed at me when I tried to put her back in her seat. When we arrived at our destination she ended up puking. Poor baby.
On another note, I am pretty sure that she is teething. People keep telling me that she IS teething because everything is going in her mouth. If you know my daughter, then you know that everything has been going in her mouth since the beginning. There is something different though. Her cheeks have been rosy and when we were Skyping with great-grandma Nunes, she rested her head on my chest. I know, "what's the big deal?" IT IS A BIG DEAL! She has never done that before! She has also been upset lately whenever we try to put her down for any reason. There has just been a shift lately. It does not help that we are always thinking that we see a tooth. Then I remembered that I would definitely feel if she had a tooth while nursing.
Cleaning time! She didn't want to be put down. |
Snuggles with mom <3 |
So many changes lately! But, she will be 6 months on Friday and so I guess that it is normal for her to be going through changes.
