Next, we took a trip to moms work to introduce her to the wonderful staff at the YMCA. As I walked in, I saw my boss and a co-worker in one of the conference room. The look on their faces was awesome. I showed Olivia off to a few people while I waited for them to finish. A mad dash occured as soon as they opened the door of the conference room. Jenny won! And after using half a bottle of hand sanitizer and having to wipe it off on other people, she got to hold Olivia. And how did baby girl respond? She filled her diaper. HAHA! Christine held her for a minute before Olivia started crying. Well, screaming is more like it. Of course..... I had to change her and feed her before we could continue the rounds. Everyone loved to see her. :-)
After we picked up Mike from work, we stopped by the house for him to change. While I was changing, I noticed they Olivia's raisin fell off!! (Her umbilical cord nub). Woohoo! She had acute little belly button and Mike is so happy that it is an inny. He has something against outy belly buttons.
We had to take baby girl in to get her for pricked again for a PKU test. Don't ask me what it stands for, I have no idea. I couldn't be in the room when they pricked her but I heard her cry and it broke my heart :( I'm glad to know that she won't remember it though. I'm pretty sure that it made her cry enough Thai she was knocked out while we went to talk to Wells Fargo about a few different things. When we got home, we called it a day and didn't want to do much else. Olivia did not sleep as well as I hoped last night so it is early to bed for the Atwaters. But the day would not have been complete without a quick talk with great grandma Cole. We are so excited for you to meet Olivia great grandma!
I feel so blessed to be entrusted to care for this precious little girl. I just live everything about her: her little smirks when she sleeps, when she throws her arms up and out when she is sleeping and gets startled, her little button nose, and kissable lips. She is a mouth breather like her mom. I only pray that I can keep up with her, I have a feeling that she will have as much energy as her dad.
Sweet dreams!
