Olivia and I hung out and did laundry until auntie Kristen showed up to take us downtown. Even though Olivia was passed out for most of the experience, we took her down to the park for the first time. Poor little thing had such dry skin! It doesn't matter how much lotion we put on, her little hands and feet are always flaking.
Did you know that babies can get acne?? We didn't! Olivia had a pimple show up pretty much right in the middle of her forehead this morning.
I am learning that the binky only works when someone other than me gives it to her. If I get close to her, she realizes it's me and spits it out because she knows that I have "the goods". Ha! So not fair...
We have also noticed that her umbilical cord is half way off! The other day I was nursing Olivia when I picked up a really weird smell that I could not pinpoint. I had Mike come over to see if he could determine what it was. Turns out it is the umbilical cord. Mike had looked it up and it said that is normal and that it is getting ready to fall off. I would say in the next day, or maybe two, it will be off.
We are learning about each other every day. But I can say it is one of my most favorite things is to see Olivia snuggled up in her daddy's arms. I could sit and watch them together all day long. As I think about that, I'm realizing that it is 3:00am and that Olivia just fell asleep again so I should probably try and get some sleep too. Until the next post! We love you all.
