Blazing on Through That Yellow Light

Yes, I know that the title makes it seem like one of us cut it close while driving with Olivia. I am happy to tell you that that is not the case :) I just had a moment this morning and was noticing how it seems every other day Olivia is hitting a new milestone and not taking the opportunity at "the yellow light" to slow down and take a rest. Nope! This girl has trails to BLAZE!

I was sitting in the living room with her this morning and had Pandora playing on my phone. She forever picked up my phone and rotated her wrist back and forth and back and forth as she stairs at it and tries to figure out what it is. Well this morning, she was flipping it back and forth as usual but this time she decided to lift the phone up and put it by her ear so that she could "listen to it better"! It is just amazing when you put your phone down, turn off the TV/computer, and pay attention. How many of you really remember what it is like to learn something extremely foreign to you? EVERYTHING is foreign to babies. It is just AMAZING to actually watch them learn new things!

And talking about blazing on through, I was holding her standing yesterday when I decided to let go and she did not fall right away but did the wibble-wobble and was trying to balance herself so hard! She did a great job! People tell me to not "push" walking/the next phase too fast. I believe that if Olivia had not spent so much time in her swing, she would have progressed even faster. She does what she wants to do, I know that because she has two of the most stubborn people for parents and we can already see it. This girl was born to "sprint" through everything and to not stop at those yellow lights. We have one lie to live and you better believe that she is going to use every minute of it; we will just have to see what for, HAHAHA! Here she is using the legs that she has been working so hard to build up her muscles on!

Yup, this is how the day went. HAHA! I actually licked and stuck the puff there, she did not put it there :)

Falling in love with John Mayer

Please ignore the mess in the background and just look at how fast she is!

At another point this morning, Olivia was playing with my phone and decided to drop it and crawl over to me. I in turn asked her, "Where did the phone go? Where is the phone? BRRIIINNNGGG! BBBRRRIIINNNGGG!" I said this as I lifted my hand with my thumb and pinky out as if I was answering the phone; you know what I'm talking about. And then it hit me! We do not have a house phone and so she has not heard what I am referring to as a "normal" phone ring! I immediately changed my ring tone to the closest thing that I could find and informed Mike that we need a house phone. Did I over react? Yes. Am I sad that my daughter may never know what a house phone is? Yes. The world is changing and it is a little scary to tell you the truth.

Okay, I just could not resist! Here is another one of the puff on the nose and the upside-down, crooked binky.

I had another moment today when it really hit me that I am a mom and that my daughter is looking up to me already. I am loving every minute of it! It breaks my heart when I have to leave and she starts to cry while crawling towards me as I walk out the door. Then I have a chuckle as I close it door behind me. This is because I can hear Mike talking loudly saying, "Ollivia! I have feelings too!! Daddy is right here!" :) Gosh, I love that man. <3 <3
