Seven Months and One Day

That is how old Olivia is today. CRAZY! We had a low key weekend trying to recover from last week and yesterday was go, go, go.

We had some friends come over after church on Easter and made smores using PEEPS! **Pet peeve: When people give me a disguised look when I talk about peeps and then tell me how gross they are and that they hate peeps. 90% of the time they don't like marshmallows at all... so stop hating on peeps and just say you do not care for marshmallows. Thank you from a sugarholic.

Mike wanted to have a Peep dual in the microwave. It did not go quite as planned but it was fun to watch them puff up!

Getting Olivia in and out of clothes these days has been a struggle. Her ear seems to be bothering her, as she has started to tug on it and rub it more, so she does not like clothes going over her head. We are keeping a close eye on it as we hope it is an ear ache from teething and at the same time praying that it is not the beginning of an ear infection (better do some research and call the doctor!). Okay, back to my point: it was a struggle to get her Easter dress, from grandpa and grandma Atwater on. But she did look very cute! If it had been warmer, I would have taken her outside for better pictures :/

I REALLY wish I had a night vision lens for my camera! Last night was a struggle to get Olivia to go to sleep. She didn't want to be bounced, didn't want to eat, didn't want to be cuddled... so I tried laying on the couch with her and rubbed her back. Oh the pictures I could have gotten! I pretended that I was asleep. She silently moved from one strange position to the next to get comfortable while making little grunting noises. At one point she had attempted several times to smash her face into the back of the couch, while half standing, to get comfortable. When she got tired of that, she turned around and fell over my legs and abdomen several times with no success. By this point I was giggling softly while watching her. The next thing I know her face is flying at mine and she lands her soft cheek against mine and leaves it there until I can't help but laugh out loud. She jerked up to a sitting position and stared at me. I was laughing so much that I started to cry. She didn't spend much time looking at me and turned around to try the back of the couch again :) We gave up on the couch and moved to mom and dad's bed. I tried nursing her again with no success. The lights were off (essential to getting a baby to sleep but felt I should state it) but I could feel her crawling around the bed trying to get comfortable. At one point she tried to crawl around my head and off the bed, so I moved her. Then the next thing I know is that she crawled to Mike's side of the bed and was trying to go over the edge! TWICE! I had her by her leg and scooped her up. In another attempted to get comfortable, she headed towards the head of the bed and ran the frown of her head into the wall.... no tears, no whimper. Daddy came home and we gave up for a while. Mike was eventually able to bounce her to sleep; it was after 11pm though. Then she was up just before 6am :( Poor baby! She needs some rest! When I finally left for work, Mike and Olivia were passed out on the couch for an 8am nap.

Geez that was a long story! Probably the longest so far. What else is new? Trying to mentally prepare myself for a weekend without my baby and preparing Mike for a weekend as a single dad. Yup, it is time. At the end of the month I have to go to Tacoma for work and I am not taking my little angel :'(  Why not? Because in a four week period I'm traveling to the west side three times. So instead of torturing her with another long ride, she is staying with daddy. Two weeks after I'm leaving her, she will be flying with me to Tacoma for work. And then the following weekend we will be driving over for my best friend's graduation romantic her Masters program. YAY!

The bee dress and this first pink one were gifts from Mike's great aunt Sally. So that would make her Olivia's great great aunt Sally? (Mike's dad's mom's sister... did you follow that??)

Yeah, she did not like this one...

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Daddy took this one

Dancin at the coffee shop!

I had a friend, Zanovia, watch Olivia today while I went to a meeting. When I got back she told me that Olivia had just gone down about 10 minutes before. But before she went down, Olivia kept folding over and trying to sleep so my friend decided to rock her to sleep. After Olivia was out, Zanovia laid her in her bed on her back. She said that as soon as she removed her arms, one of Olivia's eyes popped open and stared straight at her! Then Olivia flipped herself and went right to sleep. Zanovia's interpretation was, 'Really? Do you not know me? Why would you lay me on my back?! That is not how we do it these days.' HAHA! Yeah, I forgot to tell Zanovia that she is a back sleeper now.

I will have to get a video up soon so that you can see how fast she is moving and how well she is pulling herself up!
