8 days old. We can hardly believe it! This week has been fill of firsts.... but what do you expect to happen when you bring a new born home?
Mike was able to get Tuesday off and spent the day at home with me and Olivia. Grandpa and grandma Atwater were also in town spending another day with us. Mike and grandpa went to look at cars while grandma spent the day helping me out. She also cooked and froze us some meals so that I don't have to cook all the time. Thank you! but cries when mom or dad hold her.
Olivia had her first doctor's appointment this week. She was back up to 8lbs 14oz! She wasn't happy until they turned on the heat lamp. The doctor said that babies become like lizards when they are under a heat lamp! We need to get one....
Some other firsts---- she has flipped me off while eating and picked her nose and ate it. Haha! She had her first bath at home. We were concerned she would hate the water but she enjoyed it! She has really dry skin like her mom. We may be buying a lot more lotion.
Surprisingly, she sleeps very well. There are times when we can get a four hour nap between feedings. She seems to sleep better after she eats and we snuggle together on the couch. At the same time, I feel like I am waking her up to feed her and then she gets milk drunk and falls right back to sleep. We have noticed that she will sit there awake and quiet with other people but not when mom or dad hold her.
She has the cutest little pouty face ever! Just look at the picture below. Auntie Megan bought her the onsie but I could not get it over her head and just laid it on her for the picture. She didn't like it. :-) She gets the hiccups about twice a day and it is so cute.
You know when you see someone sleeping and can see their eyes moving under their eye lids? Well, we see that a lot. Mike says he wonders what she is dreaming about. I think it is God giving her instructions for later in life. What else would babies dream about?? She does get a sweet little smile on her face while she sleeps. Olivia is also already pretty good at holding her head up. That extra week in the oven must have helped a lot!
Her first real outing was to Sarah (Robin) Saugen's wedding yesterday. It was a beautiful wedding! Olivia slept through most of it.
Although the Hawks lost, she was able to meet two more family member, auntie Kristen and uncle Jon. Now all that is left is uncle Chris, grandpa Randy, and extended family! And all of our friends :-)
I almost forgot to mention that I lost 25lbs in ine week! Feeling pretty good about that. However, I did go to urgent care and found out that I have a UTI so that will need to be addressed quickly so I can keep up with Olivia. We are thankful for every moment with our little angel.
Sorry that this is so long, but it has been a week!
