Joining the "Grown Up" Conversations

We had a great evening last night with Anna and Erik. They came over and cooked us homemade mac'n'cheese and Anna brought the blackberry, apple, pecan pie that she baked. Yummy!!

 SO YUMMY!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great-grandma Nunes ended up not being able to come this weekend :'( However, I believe there are plans to have her come at the end of October; just waiting for a confirmation.
Olivia and I went to our friend Kendall's baby shower today. It was so cute! They are waiting to hear what the gender of their baby is. We were happy to me there. Olivia definitely made the rounds while I enjoyed my free arms :) She slept pretty much all day..... ALL day. We went to my Gonzaga students' retreat after the baby shower and she was knocked out the whole time.
While we were waiting for the students to get done with one of their sessions, I was chatting with the staff upstairs. Now, people have told me that I am an old soul. I have always enjoyed sitting and listening to older people have conversations (that just means anyone older than me). Ben has even referred to me as an old lady several times. It hit me while I was talking to the Gonzaga staff that I have cross that "line".... I am now officially one of those "older people". Instead of just sitting and listening to the conversations, I actually have to contribute. Wow... then I was thinking and even at the baby shower, I was able to relate to some women, who have been in my life for almost my whole life, in an entirely new way because I am a mom. REALITY CHECK! But it is a good reality check. Some day Mike will realize the same thing. That is, some day when he goes out with Olivia on his own and has to talk to people. :)
I added hanging toys from her bouncer and she was content to just sit and stare at them. Sorry! My brain is a little bit scattered today. Yesterday while Olivia was enjoying her floor time, I grabbed her hands and started to pull her up. She is getting so good at holding up her head! As I continued to pull her up, she assisted by pushing herself up with her legs. She is a go -getter! I will have to do it again and get a video to post.
Snuggle time!
