Day 11

November 11th: I am thankful for our Veterans. And tasty little treats!

It is Veterans Day and of course today I am especially thankful for our Veterans. However, I am thankful for them everyday. Without them sacrificing their lives, in many ways, we would not be living the lives that we are. There is no way that I could never see myself in the military. Mike on the other hand, wanted to be a Marine from the first time that I met him. I take part of the blame for crushing his dream and "talking him out of joining". Showing respect to Veterans should be an every day thing; I know that you already know that but I feel like people forget that a lot. Oh man, I can hear a chain of thoughts forming in my head so I am going to stop here and move to another topic. But thank you to the men in my family who have served! Jon, uncle Randy, and grandpa Al. <3 <3 <3 Thank you to everyone else who reads this and has served or is serving!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was from last night but I thought it was cute. Little Tawnee staying close to Goober.
Well, today did not go as planned. It was FREEZING!! Last night was rough. Olivia slept with me because she hasn't been doing all that well but she did not sleep well in my bed. So we both got very little sleep.
Olivia had her doctors appointment today at 9:30. YAY!! I woke Mike up from sleeping so that he could go with me. When we got there he went and sat down and I went to check her in. Then things went down hill.... She asked if I had her insurance card and I gave her the first card that was sent to me. I did get another card in the mail yesterday but I forgot it on the dining room table. She looked it up and informed me that Olivia had THE ONLY group of Apple Health coverage that they do not accept..... -______- WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT YOU TAKE ALL OF THEM BUT ONE AND THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ASSIGNED TO THAT ONE GROUP!?!? *SIGH* Then she proceeded to tell me that they would not be seeing Olivia today; that "we can call and see if they can change her group to one that we take, but you have to do the leg work and call them". I know that it was not her fault but I really wanted to reach over the counter and slap her. This is not something that a parent wants to hear when their baby hasn't been feeling well and she was supposed to get shots. UGH! They rescheduled for next Friday in the hopes that they will change it and activate it right away.... yeah right. So now the question is: to find a new doctor or not? I guess we have some research and discussing to do.
We went home for a little nap. I tried to leave Olivia home with Mike but he needed to sleep so I had to take her to work with me. Like I always do, I fed her before we left in hopes that she would fall asleep and I could get a few hours of work done. Nope! She decided to cry (which is very loud in a large open room), then she calmed down and was just fussy, then she was just taking noises while laying on her blanket on the floor in the conference room with me, and FINALLY fell asleep maybe 30 before I left. I took her home, pumped a bottle, and went back to work. I decided to take hot chocolate, a full can of whip cream, and mini chocolate chips to work so that I could make a pretty little treat doe myself.
She had a long, rough evening and I was finally able to get her to fall asleep. I hope that she sleeps well through the night and we will try again tomorrow.
Yup, I made this tasty little treat at work to make the day better :)
Just a short video of her playing with her burp cloth :) She is going to be an early talker, I just have a feeling. Not long after this video, I took the cloth from her and slowly lifted Norman up so she could see him. Her eyes lit up and she smiled! Warmed my heart up :)
