Day 12

November 12th: I am thankful for a functional kitchen.

Let's just say that I am LOVING having a kitchen that I can use and want to use. It is so wonderful to have a DISHWASHER! I have definitely taken this wonderful peace of machinery for granted over the years. It is also fabulous to have counter space that is not covered by shelves up above. It is not the biggest kitchen but at least the counters are not blue. However, I need to learn how to cook and bake now. I had the sudden urge before Mike had to leave for work to bake cookies. This was the result:

Yeah, no bueno.

I had a nice morning with Olivia. I was able to get her health insurance switched today, but it will not take effect until December 1st. Oh well. She will get to the doctor eventually; and someone at work told me of a place that I can go so that she can at least get her shots.

I was able to go into the office to get some work done. Not more than 10 minutes after I got there, Mike texted me asking how to get her to fall asleep... uhhhh, there is no set way. You try one thing and if it doesn't work you try another way. And then he sent me this picture with the text: "I think she's hinting at what she wants".

Me: "To be naked?" (She enjoys diaper time)
Mike: "A nipple".

HAHAHAHA!! Yeah, I guess so :) Oh boy.

So I was talking to my friend Taylor yesterday about how we think that Olivia may be teething and she started to tell me about the layout of a babies mouth and where all the teeth are located. I kinda knew the layout but had never seen a picture. So what does she do? That's right, she Googles to show me a picture. Don't bother Googling because I did it for you. Prepare to have your mouth/jaw hurt!

Yup, my mouth hurts. Like I said, I know that babies already have their teeth when they are born and one set is under the other but I never thought about what that would look like. You're welcome.

Mommy kisses with no hands!
Getting ready to do some house work with a cranky baby add-on.

THOSE LIPS! XOXO

Do you see the two layers of hair? Yes, only two months old and she has natural layers!
As I was putting Goober to bed, I sat and listened to her sucking on her binky. It wasn't until she spit it out the fourth time that I decided to switch binkies. At that point I listened again but the sound was different. So I thought, 'maybe there is a hole or tear in her normal binky and she is getting a lot of air that way causing her to be gassy. We will switch binkies for a few days and see if we notice a difference.

Mike called me when he got to work with bad news. The other day our battery light and break light would come on and then go off. They did that a few times and eventually turned off and stayed off. We figured we would wait until the weekend to get it checked out when we both had time. Well, the battery light came on again on his way to work and after he parked he turned the car off and it would not turn back on. Looks like we get to go buy a new battery tomorrow! We are still looking for a second car so we cannot afford to have this one out of commission. The joys of owning a car. But thankful that it is just a battery; that is an easy fix!

Well, off to bed for me. We will let you know how the binky swap goes!
