Day 3

November 3rd: I am thankful for deep, meaningful conversations.

I was able to go to work this morning while leaving Olivia with Mike for about 4 1/2 hours. It was hard to be away but She slept most of the time I was gone so that was okay. When I came home I scooped up Olivia and headed to Whitworth to visit Ryan. We missed the last home game of the season, and didn't end up seeing him on Sunday either. We sat and chatted with his girlfriend, Jesika, for a few hours until he got done with football.

Fuzzy jacket that I found her

As Ryan so graciously carried Olivia to the car for me, we started a conversation. This conversation seemed cut short due to the cold weather (yes, winter is coming) and the fact that I had to get Olivia home, but it was a great conversation. I have always been more of a one-on-one person. When I am talking to my students, I tell them that when I ask them how they are doing, that I really want to know how they are doing. It is rare that I get time to talk with my youngest two siblings one-on-one so as we realized that we both needed to get going, I plugged in my headset and called him so that we could continue talking until I got home. It has been amazing and a blessing to see the way that my siblings have grown up. I know that Olivia will have some good influences in her life.

When I got home and after Mike went to work, I called my mother to do some ranting (the name of the show we went to last night by Lewis Black was called "The Rant is Due". HA!). It is nice that Olivia can sleep through that :) Although I do think that she can pick up the vibe in the room so I need to change how and when I rant so that she is not around. Thank you mom for being there to listen to me! I know that it is a month of thankfulness, so I am also thankful for people who will let me rant to them about things.

I knew that I had seen that face before! Now I just need to find a baby picture of Mike where he is making the same face as Olivia to show that it is the angle that determines who she looks like. Who do you think she looks like?

  1. She's getting so big! She needs to slow down with that haha. And her little smiles are overwhelming with sweetness :)
